This is a review of the Crimson Gurad's Sentry Missile System set (SMS) released exclusively by Sears in 1985.

  1. So ya breed a Target HISSTANK with a WalMart Heetseeker-ya get a poor mans remake SMS-Sears Exclusive
  2. Cool! So this is an original toy??? I do not have the red Cobra Hiss Tank! Do you have one you can sell or part with???
  3. As a bit of trivia, it would be interesting to know why Hasbro printed "Heetseek" vs. "Heatseek" on the stickers.
  4. I love the crimson red. Still need this piece for my collection. Great piece, good review.
  5. I never understood the color scheme for this version of the HISS. You would thing something red would be red for bombers. thats why i guess i didnt get this piece. Later on the camme up with the IMP which was red too but i got it anyway. I think i got 2 of them.
  6. @formbx257 The HISS, as well as a few older vehicles sold through Target as exclusives from ROC had minor changes made for the newer figures, such as smaller foot pegs and thinner backpack pegs. The HISS III is a vintage era mold, I've tried to fit 25th figures and very few will. They do sit in the turret though without problem. The black Serpent Armor, which was a recasting of the SNAKE, actually had no mold changes made as it fit the modern 4" figures just fine.
  7. @diosoth Thanks, that was very nice of you to say! Actually after I did this review I discovered the new HISS molds had more differences. It made me want to get the new versions of all my stuff just to compare!
  8. I do have to say that for fan videos, you do have a professional quality. You talk to the camera with confidence and do an excellent job of displaying the toy in an interesting manner. Modern 25th reissues of the HISS tanks have a deeper canopy to fit the newer toys and smaller foot pegs on the rear but tend to be visually close as they share molds. I personally own a HISS III, got it boxed for $10 a few months ago and quite like it. I wish to try and get the other variants when and if I can.
  9. @slappy9876543210 Thanks for watching! I started seriously collecting in the early '90s off and on until now... so about ten years worth! I got the bulk of the Cobra HQ from a seller in the US (sadly no longer in the toy biz) and various parts to complete it from ebay over the years.
  10. @formbx257 Man, an impressive collection, Kevin. I can't believe how complete it is with all the boxes, and the Canadian Consumers Tank. How long did it take you to compile this, and when and where did you get the 1982 Sears Cobra Missile base? I've seen ONE on eBay in the past few years. James
  11. I LOVE your videos! They are so detailed and information filled. And are a great visual archive of childhood toys that we either had, or really wanted but never received. I cracked up when you mentioned "Pawtucket R.I.". Hearing that no-so-common name again, brought back young memories of looking over every detail of my G.I. Joe masterpieces. And everytime seeing 'Pawtucket R.I.', I had thought it must've been some magical place where they made these marvels, better than the North Pole itself.
  12. @yojoeturner Thanks for watching! I wish I had a newer HISS too, after I uploaded this I discovered Hasbro changed the mold on the turret/cannon connections after 1991! That is a very easy way to spot the difference between the 1985 version and all other releases.
  13. Sweet, bro, I would have loved to see a good comparison of the new target and wal-mart releases with your vintage. Your color looked a little hotter pink than my newer ones...
  14. @ctitchen Now that you mention it, G.I. Joe has had a lot of store exclusives recently (Walmart, TRU, KB and Target/Zellers) but nothing from Sears!
  15. @Beatnick79 Me too, and I'm surprised the Walmart version kept the odd spelling!
  16. Very nice! I have the red HISS myself, but not the MMS.
  17. Ah for days gone by when Sears had toy exclusives. Great review as always
  18. @alexan2dros Thanks!
  19. @lunacy05 Thanks for watching!
  20. thats rare.... thanks for ther review!
