I am a little confused now. The image file contains kernal and ramdisk. Shouldn't it be in the /boot partition? You didn't specify the partition argument in the fastboot command. Also, how come the recovery image contains the kernal and ramdisk in the first place? If I downloaded the recovery image, I'd have executed: sudo fastboot boot recovery twrp.img. What am I missing here?

*.apk = *.zip

so you are just "live booting" the custom recovery using boot command. But if I would like to install it on my phone it would be the flash command, is that correct?
