[!!] Before encrypting if you own a non-Samsung device, I would look into whether or not it can be decrypted as many Android devices cannot. [!!] I state in the video that you should decrypt before updates, and although normal recovery cannot access /data, when updating it can so there is no need to decrypt before updates (I tried this myself).   18. What if you encrypt an sd card, your phone breaks. You remove the sd card and place it in a new phone. Do you lose all data on the sd card as you now cannot access it?

I tried to encrypt my rooted Samsung Note 4, but it got stuck on this very screen, which I suppose it's your phone since you've used it as thumbnail https://i.ytimg.com/vi/W_qcTycR3UY/maxresdefault.jpg .
