  1. one tip is to get as many friends and family members to invest in buying hard drives to storage and trade media with, therefore you will have a backup if your drives fail by simply copying from your friends drive!!!
  2. my goal is to have a extensive Media collection of music, movies, and photos!! I want about 20TB of storage!!

So I wonder is it best to use small hard drives verses large ones?

my logic is to have as many small drives as possible, like 3 or 4 TB, that way if a drive fail you will only loose a small amount of data,

and use large drives as backup storage only!!
  3. i had WD my cloud and WD my book and both crapped out after a year. never will do WD again.
  4. Thanks for the help! Im currently using a HD per project. Its good until you stop labelling them and clients ask for old footage. Have you thought about cloud storage? Is this a no go area for video makers?
  5. I need an auto hard drive for my PS4 Pro system I'm just wondering what do you think I should get never had an auto hard drive have no idea how to even work
  6. Or you can get two 10 terabyte hard drives from sea gate and another two for back up
  7. Great video :). Definitely a thumbs up!! The zooming in and out makes me dizzy tho
  8. Don't get WD passport! It'll slow your computer and sometimes won't read.

  10. most portable is 1tb kingston xtrem usb pendrive
  11. Love the videos bro...man you can help me out....I just purchased a 2016 MacBook Pro w/touchbar 2.9Ghz, 512 GB, Radeon pro 460 4GB. Running Final Cut....... Should I keep all of my "programs" i.e. Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, etc on a separate SSD and edit from there.....? And then when I am done with the footage, transfer it like a WD external for storage....?
  12. It's really helpful info Sean
  13. who can answer this question? list three interfaces that could be used with a removable data storage unit such as an external hard drive?
  14. I'm just getting started with YouTube and my Mac is already out of space, after a month of footage. I'm not ready to separate from my files yet because I don't know if I'll ever use them again in the future. I don't have a ton of money to spend at the moment, but maybe willing to invest in a good external drive if needed. What do you think, should I splurge for your standard External Drive? Or just part with my footage?

All my videos come from my Android phone currently, so I don't have any SD card setups yet.
  15. Random question if doing video and photography using Final Cut Pro how fast would 256gb Essentially last before I would run out of storage ?
  16. I have Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU in my computer with 2.0 USB port.

Is port 3.0 Hard drive supportable for my device???
