  1. i dunno, but if you really want to destroy a hdd so NO ONE can ever recover it: sred your files on the hdd, then shred the hdd itself physically. i have no idea what kind of alien technology could recover that, but if you really need to make shure, you probably better burry up the leftovers somewhere. atleast that's how i would do it.
  2. An often claimed method for totally putting a HD beyond recovery is drilling a hole through all the platters. Is that true? Or could u recover from that too?
