  1. I'm attempting to copy a laptop image to a bootable USB stick. So would I have to follow this process and install Clonezilla and YUMI on a USB drive while on the laptop itself?  That's where I got a little lost.

  3. Hello good, I have a query two days ago I cloned a hard disk as follows:
    1. First create the 500GB disk image on a usb disk.
    2. Second Mount the Image to a solid state disk of 1000GB, and it works wonderfully.

    Well the computer started normal and faster, but when I verify that space had I found that I'm not detecting the 1000Gb solid state disk, so if you had an experience of these I ask you help me by telling me how I can do The computer shows the disk space.
  4. i have made bootable sd cards and dvds with yumi and for yumi to see the drive you have to select show all drive

  7. it would be good to know how to expand the partition on the target drive. My original small source drive was out of space, hence the clone to a new bigger drive. But not much info on how to expand the partition... lots of talk about it being easy to do, but not much luck for me. Does the -k1 command in clonezilla do this with a larger target drive?
  8. Will the method described produce a backup that is suitable for disaster recovery of a windows 7 system disk?
    Do I need to do anything special to account for the bootloader/MBR ?
    My Intent: Backup a newly installed and fully patched o/s and be able to clone that nice clean image onto bare metal.
    Such images are far faster to deploy than doing all the individual installs.

  11. Clonezilla is great. I like Acronis cause I can copy larger drives to smaller ones with "Proportional Volume Resizing" (As long as there is enough space on target drive for files, not total capacity of drive) Is there a way to make clonezilla copy disk of any size as long as there is enough space for system files/. Also Wonder if possible to do via PXB boot to other computers along with resizing volumes according to space used? Currently configuring a deployment server for my company trying to figure out best method with least down time.
  12. I have tried to create the usb boot. It says yumi can not find the configuration file. Clonezilla is not supported.
  13. My keyboard stops working when it gets to the select language menu after you select the ram thing. I can't press anything after I get to that screen
  14. Hi, when i am loading the image onto a new machine I get the rror message the Destination Disk is too small. The PC image i am copying has a 250gb as does the destination PC. My external hardrive however has 1tb. how can i resolve this?

  16. I don't know if this is a problem, but my MULTIBOOT drive ,(D:) in my case, only has the "multiboot:" file no ".disk" file like yours is this bad? Or will it still work?
  17. can I install the clonezilla on a hdd that is in my computer (not source and not destination drive) and if I can, do I have to remove all the data off that drive first?

    I need to clone a hard drive, as you said i prepared the usb flash drive but i have a question about the process. You said that the main drive isn't accessible because it's busy for running the system, but i need to copy the main hard drive.

    So what should i do? Should i connect another hard drive to run the system and clone my main hard drive to my target hard drive? Can't i clone without using another hard drive?

    If you can answer my questions and help me, i'll be pleased.

  20. Hi, my labtop has some bad sectors on the hard drive. If I clone it, will it copy the bad sectors? I already did a chkdsk on the drive. Or what will you say is the best approach of getting my computer back and running?
