Compaq Presario and Windows 98

I got an original compaq quick restore disk with this presario 1230 laptop, so I thought it would be fun to see the first boot and (especially) the registration introduction screen. specs are in video.

  5. I found one of the 1230s at a thrift store for $7. It has Windows 95 (WTF?). The screen was completely blown. I plugged in an external video cable. Presto! Got the darn thing to play X-COM. Can't WAIT!

  9. do you have drivers for that machine? i cant find the video and sound drivers for compaq presario 1230. can you make a mediafire or 4shared download link please?
  10. too late! I bought a dell latitude CPi off ebay for 11$. It just needs a new keyboard. Also the only hard drive i have for an old laptop is garbage. It spins down when not in use and operates very slowly.

  16. i had a compaq desktop computer with windows 98 till games i was borrowing gave it viruses and crashed it after that my uncle put windows xp in it i sold the computer to him not to long ago because i have a laptop but i still have the windows 98 compaq quick restore disks that came with it when i got it
