This video shows you how to create a recovery disk of your pc/ laptop as a back-up in emergencies if the AlienReSpawn partition that comes with all Alineware computers by default fails.   1. i have alienrespawn and if i do a maintenence check bef it pops up when i start comp it comes up clean but as soon as alienrespawn starts if i do a system maintenence check i get a disk volume error ive tried chkdsk, sfc scannow and come up with no errors wtf could cause alienrespawn to be giving me this error
  2. does it matter if you've already installed stuff on the computer? For some reason I'm thinking you want the os as clean as possible, is that true? If so is it bad to make a recovery disc after installing software and games on the hard drive?
  3. hi , I need your help , I saw the video to flash to restore Alienware, but here , I do not have access to the recovery because of a mistake on my part , is what could be that you share me your factory restore data ? If it is obviously possible

  4. Just purchased a used M14x and it came with no drive. Possible to install Alienware Windows 7? The windows key is still stuck on the bottom. What the best method if anything to get it restored to factory default? thanks
  5. couldn't even install alienrespawn on my alienware M17xR1 _" first tried the direct one from the respawn homepage.. but after it restarted to continue installing, it basically didn't do anything.. so i had to abort the installation and then I tried it from the page were you need to check your system first.. which told me that i didn't had a recovery partition or something like that? brand new laptop.. can't even make a recovery backup (well atleast not with the software from alienware)
  6. After when it says "writing files" it was already 30 minutes and still said writing files. I was using my ipod classic as a USB drive is that why?
  7. i have tried this on 3 different usb keys and respawn still says No USB Key Found the sizes iv used are 8GB 16GB and 32GB all sandisk i also have a Western Digital 250GB external HDD and Respawn still saying no usb key found .....This is soooo annoying , can anyone help?
  8. So My friend lost my x51 windows 7 disc(Im gonna kick his ass for it :P). Can alienrespawn essentially be used to make a windows 7 disc? is that how it works. Im planning on experimenting with steamos when it comes out, and I'm debating removing windows 7 in general. But not if I dont have the proper OS Backup

  15. The restore image is an *image*, thus, meaning it is a compressed file. 7GB of compressed memory could turn into 30GB of real usable memory. How do Windows 7 disks work if they're only 4GB disks, when the OS itself is 20GB+? Compression, my friend :)
  16. Do note that this would only work if you have the Original Restore Partition on the Hard Drive...if you deleted the partition already it wont create a backup ...
  17. alright thanks alot for replying. i have been watching your videos for a at least an hour because im really anal about opening up my PC hehe. I ordered the samsung 840 120GB SSD and i will use it as my Boot up drive. I'll let you know how i go.
  18. And theres one thing i dont understand. How can 7GB be only the amount that it backs up? My m18x r2 had at least 30GB of data straight out of the factory.
