Have just installed the Smart Switch for my S5 with a cracked black screen so that I can retrieve my Memo's as described in your video but I am getting a message when I plug in my phone in that say: "USB file transfer is not allowed' - I have no pin lock on my phone. Are you able to help me figure out how I can get it to USB File Transfer??
  3. omg wtf man    I still cannot find a video regarding my phone,  my note 5 fell from waist high    picked it back up it was cracked under screen   even with a fukn otter box on it       so I have cracks under the screen      screen is black   no pic no sound no light up butting nothing. only the led light stays on for eternity    help    need to get data off     all these videos are with phones that still light up and gives sound   mine does none of that.

  5. I have a Galaxy S3 and the screen is cracked and won't turn on or stay charged. I never had a SD card in it so is it still possible to retrieve photos and videos off of the phone?

  7. Getting out of the car today I found a Samsung S6 on the road. The front looks like it's had a hundred little pick axes hack away at it - it seems to have been dropped face down and run over by lots of heavy vehicles on one of the busiest "A" roads in the country.

    I can see from Google they're expensive. I have a perfectly good Nokia and also have an Acer smart phone I was given, but prefer to stick with the Nokia as it's stupidly simple. (5310).

    I thought I'd try and get it going and contact the owner to give it back - there could be family photos on it etc etc. The blue light flashes at the top when switched on as do the two white lit symbols at the bottom but I can't tell if it's on as the screen doesn't function. I've tried to link it to the samsung kies programme but it says that it won't allow USB transfer.

    Is this a lost cause? Someone, somewhere, is desperately wondering where their phone is and I can't help because I can't switch it on and ring the "home" number.

    Could I suggest that people at least write another number on the back to cover cases like this? On my bunch of keys (worthless to the finder) I have a contact number and the amount of the reward if found attached to them.

  12. Can you help with a S7? I don't have a password but phone is locked. i can't unlock by swiping because I cant see the screen. How do I unlock the screen so I can transfer data?

  20. Thank you for this guide! I have J3 that has a broken screen and I tried Smart Switch, but the phone has to be put into file transfer mode for it to work. Would Kies not require the phone to be put into file transfer mode?
