Please subscribe for more! I got this computer from a local retailer at a very affordable price, but with a small catch. The computer was an "open box" model, and was also discounted because it had a password. When I got home I tried restoring it using the F8 method, also F2, F1, F9, F11, etc and nothing worked. After contacting Dell for more than 2 hours they finally helped me restore it, the hard time was because the previous customer registered the pc. Enjoy the video!

  11. Thanks Bro. your solution worked. After getting that "backup recovery doesn't work" error message, i tried other youtubers videos ("Hold F8".. blah, blah, blah), & it didn't work. your video was the only one that acknowledged that the F Keys don't do it, & you gave another method.

    the only things is, i didn't have a Password issue (i never put a password for that computer), so i had to find another way to get to that "Reset" screen.. i simply clicked the "Start" button, chose "Restart".. & HELD DOWN the "Shift" key (as you suggested), & it worked, i got to the Screen with the "Troubleshoot" option. Then i clicked "Reset" (NOT "Backup & Recovery").. & the RESET began. it takes forever, but it works (& i have the Dell 15R, so your solution probably works for all the Inspiron Laptops).. Thanks again. i too had that Registered to another user issue, & had to bring my computer back for another.. which was also registered under another name.. So Dell needs to do something to fix that insanity.

    P.S. - that guy who told you to "shut the fuck up".. He should just be saying "Thank you"
    your video is only 4 minutes long.. you gave information that worked. there is another guy with a longer video, & his Hit "F8" doesnt work.. (i hit F8 like eight times, kept restarting & gave up) Peace

  15. To save everyone time from listening to his voice, just hold SHIFT and select power button and select restart, this works for windows 8 and above.
