  3. This is a little story for all the of people who think that they will be able to work as a IT professional in the Data-centers of AWS and other cloud providers. During the late 80's and early 90's a friend of mine was working to setup the 1st Generation mobile phone network in my country. At that time most of the major mobile phone base stations where manned by telephone engineers to keep the network running. Fast forward to today and you will find that no mobile phone base station is manned. It is only a matter of time until they have refined the system so much that it is no longer necessary to have on-site staff. Listen to Eli. I know it's not what we want to hear but we have to accept it.
  4. I find it quite ironic that you talk about TOR and the darker side of the internet and then follow it up about how AWS is going to make us all unemployed. I don't think you are fear-mongering. On the contrary I think that mass job losses that AWS and other services like it. Will drive a lot of former "IT Professionals". To put on their black hats and start getting involved in various forms of internet based criminal activity. If we can't be the good guys maybe we can have some fun and make some money being the bad guys.
  5. Hi Eli, you should check out the Comodo One RMM platform for MSP's. I've been in the break-fix business for a few years and in the process of moving to Managed support. I like the fact that they have a forum for us to better the platform and request new features. Its a great starting point for anyone getting into the MSP game. Keep up the great work

  7. Eli, I agree Amazon is causing a C-Change in the IT industry. Many clueless UK public bodies are falling over themselves to deploy 'innovative change solutions' by shipping their cloud/database/CMS/security/policies to an Amazon server farm outside Dublin. Then they need expensive management consultants to expalin why they need ' elastic search' to get it all back again.

    BTW anyone know if the IoST >>Internet of Sex Toys<< has any technical standards, or is it just a bunch of Arduinos powering actuators?

  15. I know you might get this a lot, but might I suggest shorter videos? Maybe some where you talk about major points in the subject you are discussing. Not a lot of people have the time to sit down and watch 2 hour long lectures about things, though I'm sure many people want to know what your opinions are on them. If you're still interested in these maybe make two videos, a ~10 minute one focusing on the key points, and keep making longer ones for those who prefer it.
