 Fix: "Disk Erase Failed With The Error: Invalid Request"

Have you ever tried to erase or format a drive for whatever reason and got the error "Disk Erase Failed With The Error: Invalid Request"? I did, and it gave me a headache. I found the solution so I wanted to make it easy for everyone else. Hope this video helps! This could also go the the error: Disk Erase Failed With The Error and/or Invalid Request but usually googled through "disk utility disk erase failed with the error invalid request" either way this would fix that problem.   4. When I try this for my HDD, it tells me that can not unmount the disk. I've tried going to terminal and force unmounting it and still have no luck.
  5. What if I'm unable to select "partition"? i cant click on it, its grey icon. (I'm trying to convince myself i can somehow fix my usb drive before throwing it away)

  8. Mine is showing; "Erase failed : Unable to write to the last block of the device". i did not open the drive anywhere else on my computer, it is closed and not in use.

I am having external HDD and did partition of that as well but when I try to format one of its partition I get the same error and I cannot erase whole drive as one of its partition belongs to Windows and the MAC partition is made of type exFat but its not allowing me to format to MAC OS X JOURNAL
