FonePaw iOS Transfer for PC and Mac: http://www.fonepaw.com/ios-transfer/ http://www.theiphoneappreview.com/2016/01/fonepaw-ios-transfer-apple-software-review/ Over time, Apple has made a point to separate the iPhone from the computer. There was a time in the not so distant past when you had no choice but to connect your phone to iTunes in order to even perform an update. Luckily we’ve moved past this tethered lifestyle, but many of us still rely on our computer to manage media on our device. FonePaw iOS Transfer is a software program for PC and Mac that allows users to bypass iTunes and manage their media quickly and easily. The software is available in a trial version with the option to upgrade. We don’t usually feature software programs here on The iPhone App Review, but it’s always fun to mix things up a bit. I wanted to take FonePaw iOS Transfer for a spin while avoiding immediately comparing it to iTunes, which wasn’t very difficult seeing as I can’t remember the last time I used Apple’s software. The installation process was flawless, but I do want to mention that you have to have iTunes installed in order to use FonePaw iOS Transfer. This shouldn’t pose a problem for most, but it’s definitely worth mentioning. Once everything is installed, be sure to reconnect your phone to your computer and wait for the program to detect your device. Once it’s detected, you can access pretty much everything that’s available on your phone or tablet. When it comes to usability, I didn’t have any issues with finding my way around FonePaw iOS Transfer. The interface is incredibly intuitive and I really like the fact that all features are laid out in a clear and organized way. You won’t spend a bunch of time trying to discover hidden features; everything can be accessed within a couple clicks. I was truly surprised to see just how many features FonePaw iOS Transfer offers, even in the free trial version of the software. You’re free to move files to and from your computer, all without having to deal with iTunes. You can also create individual backups of media such as contacts, and you can also use the program to restore these backups. Seeing as Apple no longer forces us to rely on iTunes for managing our iDevices, it’s wonderful that we can explore other managers without worrying about damaging our device. The best part about the free trial is that you have enough freedom to get the feel of FonePaw iOS Transfer without buying it first, so you know what you’re getting into if you decide to pay for the full upgrade. FonePaw iOS Transfer has the same price point for both PC and Mac. A single user license will currently cost you $39.95 and a multiuser license for up to three computers will cost you $59.95. When it comes to price, FonePaw iOS Transfer is pretty much on point in comparison to similar software programs. As I mentioned in the video review, the overall value is totally dependent on how much use you as the consumer will get out of the product. Naturally you probably don’t want to shell out $40 for a dedicated software program if you only connect your phone to your computer a couple times a month to transfer pictures, but if you frequently manage media on your computer, FonePaw iOS Transfer is definitely worth it.
