Apple designed Snow Leopard 10.6 so that you cannot select 'Erase Install' when booting from DVD like in Leopard 10.5. Apple states that you need Leopard 10.5 installed in order to 'Upgrade' or 'Install' Snow Leopard 10.6 - This is not true. This guide shows you how to do a clean install of Snow Leopard 10.6. Extremely hand if you need to install a new hard drive. Please note this was performed off the 'Upgrade' disk - which shouldnt [according to Apple] be able to do a full install!   2. Hi there! I've followed the start-up steps several times, but every time after I select the install disk, I just get a screen with the apple logo, and it never changes over to the menu. The longest I've waited is 30 minutes. Could it take longer than that, or is there just something wrong with my machine?

  6. Hi there, thanks for your video but I got a small problem..
    I restarted the computer, got the two icons Macintosh HD and MAC OS x Install Disc 1. The problem now is when I click on the MAC OS x Install Disc everything is suddenly frozen. I get no pop up screen where I can choose my language or anything, just the screen with the two icons. My mouse is also frozen and nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me?

  12. hi when i choose to install from bootable usb in keeps loading but it doesnt show the apple logo but shows a stop sign but its keeps loading
