We create a lot of data on our Android devices. We take pictures and videos. We get text messages and emails. Most of our apps allow us to create data. The problem is, backing up that data isn’t easy and at the front of our mind. We need something that makes it easy and simple. 1. is it backup in ext sd card?
2. How do you re-authenticate it?
3. would this work If I want to save a game and then factory reset my phone?
4. I saw most of the comments by other users here, and they all seem to be related to the same issue, can't freaking connect using the PTP. Now instead of having about this product, how awesome it is (because it does not required root), why don't you do a useful video, (a-z) how you got this crap to work. Now that's a concept!!!
   By the way, I used older version Helium before,  and it actually worked.
5. "my PC helium app is not detecting my phone and my phone app" done all it was asked along with the ADB driver. Help needed.
6. I was able to backup to the android device and then copy the backup info to a pc.
   Now I got my tablet back (had a problem with the cpu) I can't seem to run Helium anymore :-/
   is it because of the new android 7.0 ??
   I always get the message to able USB debugging and enable the USB PTP but they both are enabled :-/
   Why does it have to make a connection to the pc when you really don't need it ??
7. my pc helium app is not detecting my phone and my phone app says enable ptp even if ptp is enabled

8. Old Phone: Galaxy Note 2
   New Phone: Motorola Turbo 2
   I was able to back-up the Galaxy and restore it to the Motorola Turbo 2, but it was tricky. It took several tries before the Helium desktop app would recognize that the Turbo 2 was connected. I think the solution that finally worked was:
   
   1. Install the desktop app and have it running
   2. Set the Turbo 2 to PTP mode
   3. Connect the Turbo 2 to the computer via USB
   4. Install the Helium app on the Turbo 2
   
   I think the key is to have the PTP mode set before installing Helium on the phone. After this, I was able to connect to my google drive and was able to backup the app data (as noted, in many cases you need to install the app via the Play store before you backup the data — it makes sense, you need the app before you can use the data).
9. This guy is selling a "Pro" non-free App. If you want to find out about an app which costs you money--this video is for you. If you want a free app, this video is not about the free version. Besides, this guy's voice is sooooo professional that you have to ask yourselves: Is this guy just another Youtube hawking salesman?
10. I try to transfer 3 games, 3 games is all I'm trying to transfer,
    Downloads app expecting it to work as promised.
    Does every instruction down to the letter!
    Backups the 3 games I've been trying to backup.
    Connects both devices to helium.
    Open "Restore and Sync"
    "Restoring from SPH-L520 requires Helium Premium"
    Is about ready to throw phone out the window at this point.
    
    Anyone else got a solution?
11. Helium is the worst crap and piece of shit you can expect as a software ! It is nothing close like the fantastic Titanium backup. Helium crashes on launch on a smartphone, doesn't offer any possibility unlike what it claims to chose the external micro SD to save data. Once connected to your computer, it won't even start to backup anything, you're gonna get stuck with a 153 bytes backup which is useless, sometimes it is gonna backup about 9 megabytes and never goes any further, sometimes the backup won't simply start.
    
    Seeing how impossible to backup anything, i cannot even imagine how rotten the restore (mal)function must work, or yes, I can, just by reading the poor experience of other users who left comments on the google play.
    
    My advice is either root your phone and buy the premium version of Titanium backup who saved me numerous times on a rooted phone with a Cyanogen mod ROM or accept the fact that if you're aren't rooted, in case of crash, you're gonna loose your data.
    
    There are still other backup apps who allow you to backup some of your data like contacts and calendar, photos, music as well as the APK of your apps on a non rooted smartphone though.
    
    Don't lose your time and nerves with Helium, this is the worst of the worst among android apps !
12. can you make a video of a game back up, try Boom beach, what I like to do is just play it offline and back up, or is there a app where we can back up data to another gmail account, I want to back up my game from one gmail to my new gmail

15. I backed up my apps once to internal storage and second to my computer. After rooting of the phone , I installed again Helium on my phone because all data was wiped. So I tried to recover from the computer but is says invalid back up file. Wasting of time.
16. what a joke. I pay $5 for the premium Helium so I can just go to cloud, then when I launch it says I have to install the free version for the paid version to work. Did that then it says I have to install a windows app before it can work (I bought premium so I didn't need to use PC). Downloaded windows app and says it cannot install without android drivers for windows. Go to get that and it says I need to install Android SDK before I can install android drivers, before i can install helium for windows, before I can run helium premium. Screw helium and the UX programmers there.

18. Excellent - what are the risks rooting your device? I am doing my 1st back-up
19. Nope. Just tested it several times with my HTC One M9... both to SD Card and to PC. Very few apps backed up and restored properly. Errors (different ones!). Might work for some but not for me. Will keep looking for a solution.
