How to Avoid OpenCandy PUP.Optional.OpenCandy is what we call, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP). It is not classed as being a Virus, but you still don't want it installed on your computer.   3. What i don't like is the fact that uTorrent and BitTorrent have these, whilst you pay for the pro versions. :/

  6. hey, i'm not sure where to post this. my friend recently installed IMGBurn and his computer got littered with these freewares. he apparently rebooted his computer and it booted up to a black screen. all he could see was the cursor on the side, and it was moving by itself. it was moving around, on and off screen, and my friend is just sitting there watching. i feel really bad and need to find out what to do to help him asap. please reply quickly. this is very important.

    I don't use it but... RIP some of my classmates

  11. I got OpenCandy installed with StepMania, but my antivirus detected it. I deleted those .dll's and I hope that candy didn't have time to do anything.

  17. DivX tried to sneak in an OpenCandy installation without even asking for permission to me. My anti-virus blocked it as soon as the installer opened.
  18. Why the heck would Avast bundle ADWARE with their ANTIVIRUS products? As if the constant nagging to upgrade isn't enough already.
  19. The best way to avoid OpenCandy is to not click Next like an idiot. No offense.
  20. I read the EULA just for fun.
    And I never click next without unchecking everything
