In this video a Windows-7 PC is going to be used to demonstrate a simple way to back up your entire computer by creating an 'Image' of your machine. The system backup will include the Operating System, Any Installed Software, Data, and User Settings that have been saved on the C: (This is typically the main hard drive on most PCs) We used the FREE edition of Macrium's "Reflect" Software to perform this task, but others, such as Acronis or Norton Ghost will perform similar tasks. Generally speaking, it's a good idea to have a system backup of your computer in a different location than the computer. In the event of a disaster, your programs, data, and users settings will remain protected. NOTE: if you use Macrium - Reflect, you will also have to create a Recovery Disk as well as creating a backup of your computer. We've already created a full product review of Reflect, which demonstrates how to create the Recovery Disk / PE Environment. 1. I forget to mention that the backup software also does some file compression, so the 37GB ended up being less that 20GB after the back was completed.
