  1. Thank you for the video, I have 2 large external hard drives that stopped working and yesterday IIFREECOM took slight knock and has stopped working so glad to know it is possible to fix it.

  3. my Seagate external hard-disk has a mechanical failure it beeps for 4 time i want to recover data any solution!!
  4. so my little niece nocked one of my ext hardrives off the table by accident and hit the floor. when you plug it in you can hear it spinning and it sounds fine but wont read now. can it be saved r is it screwed?

  6. Since about the last ten to twelve years or so, IDE have not been used anymore in computers. Most drives used are SATA.

    I now buy enclosures of my personal preference. There are many types. The pricier enclosures are easy to swap the drives in and out. With today's devices and computers get a USB3 type enclosure.

  8. I have a external hdd,when I start it to connect to PC I pushed data cable more forcefully ,then suddenly the USB slot has broken,then thought this hdd,can make as internal hdd for that what I want to do...,,sir can you correct answer for mee
  9. Thank you so much, a week ago my external hard drive stopped working. It seemed it wasn't connecting to the hard drive inside. I followed your steps since I have a similar one and bought the same blue casing you used. It fixed it 100% and now I can reclaim all my important data and files. Now I'm off to buy a new external hard drive to back everything up.
  10. Shut the front door! I was just about to check out the suggestions you made about searching Amazon/EBay for similar drives when I listened to your very thorough and excellent explanation on the importance of getting the right usb cord. I was having issues with my drive last year and was able to save all my documents from my drive to my desktop but my ex-roommate broke into my room and stole my desktop among other things. Anywhore, I just put in my cord that has a dual usbs and it worked for me! Of course I am copying over everything that I can just in case this is a one shot deal as I am typing this comment. I can finally see my manuscripts, my architecture class studio work, my music, my photos, etc. again! Thank you so much for this video!

  13. I have the same external hard drive. When I plug it in the lights on the inside just blink or flash. Could this fix my problem?
  14. +Nathaniel Pillar #1: Not all enclosures come with 2 cables, I recommend getting the ones that do. #2: If you have both cables, I recommend using them (per my reasons in the video), and #3: The Coolmax comes with a power cable for 2.5", 3.5" and 5.25" drives. It has a "wall wart" type design and a molex connector that plugs into the drive or the interface.
  15. If the coolmax supports 3.5 inch drives, why is there no power adapter? 3.5 inch needs external power.

Hi!  I got the Coolmax adapter and tried it out today on my mini external drive and when I plugged it into my drive, the adapter beeped a bunch of times.  Does that mean my drive still works? :s  Lol, I can't find any information on the Coolmax website or anywhere about how to tell if the drive being tested is working.
  20. my hard drive fall down from a table and it stopped working. The disk inside is spinning but my computer cannot find anything. Please help.
