Apple did lie! You DON'T need the earlier version of Leopard (10.5). So here I will show how to install Snow Leopard using the very cheap £25 ($29) "upgrade" disc!

  1. hello i just erase my HD on my 2009imac it was on Yosemite but for some reason it doesn't let me restore the imac without putting my apple I'd thingy but it says that is unavailable try again later. I was looking at eBay and they selling snow Leopard 2009 would it work even tho it was on Yosemite
  2. Thank you!!:)
  3. perfect!
  4. Dumb question here, but does this require a product key on install, or just a disk? Trying to buy a MacBook and I want it to have a legal copy of OSX, so I want to buy Snow Leopard for it. But I want to know if it needs a product key.
  5. Thanks for rescuing my 2007-mid imac.
  6. Thank you for posting this video, it worked as stated.
  7. when you said "it will ask were you want to install it" nothing comes up
can i please have some help.
  8. Very helpful thx a lot man!! 👌🏾
  9. is the song of Mac OS X snow leopard
  10. When I go to choose the drive it says there is not enough free space. When I use disk utility, and try to erase the drive it says it cannot unmount disk. Any ideas on this?
  11. There is nothing on the package or the store website about "upgrade only". You have made up this lie; it didn't come from Apple. At this website --> https://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1172/en_US/Snow_Leopard_Installation_Instructions.pdf it shows "System requirements
To upgrade to Snow Leopard or install Snow Leopard for the first time, you must have a Mac with:
    * An Intel processor
    * An internal or external DVD drive, or DVD or CD Sharing
    * At least 1 GB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended)
    * A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
    * At least 5 GB of disk space available, or 7 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools"
Where in that do you see "Requires Leopard"??? Also, you must be coming from the PC world. Mac OS X does not have any reliability issues or bugs from upgrading over the previous version. It has a perfectly design installer that will replace any and all OS files from the previous OS that do not match the digital signature of the OS 10.6 files. I have upgraded at least 20 times on various Macs, and never any problem. THE DRIVE IS NOT DIRTY, so no need to erase. There are no hidden digital dust bunnies. You also avoided Rosetta and QuickTime Player 7, two valuable extras. If you have any PPC coded apps, they won't play unless you install Rosetta. QT Player 7 can play AVI files with SRT subtitles, and the new QT Player X cannot.
  12. when I install the cd it's saying that the installer cannot be installed on the disk
  13. Thank you so much!
