  1. Exclusion takes forever. Crap program
  2. Does not see an external HDD.................. how the F am i going to back up a HDD without disassembling the laptop?
  3. your product is shit
  4. Wait, after you cloned your c: drive, how do you insert the old disk back into the computer? So you first boot from ssd, ( better disattach the HDD from computer) and than what? I would like to use the HDD and only formacte the old C:.
  5. Love Acronis. I clone both my SSD as an image onto a USB drive about every 3 months. It takes about 2 hours per drive, but well worth it.
  6. WILL NOT CLONE A DYNAMIC VOLUME!
No matter how much you want it to.

Documentation offers no suggestions for the poor schmuck who discovers this after buying the package. I had no reason to know that C: drive was a dynamic volume.

The documentation on line just says YOU CAN'T.

Promotional materials don't say "Clone basic volume only". Would be more honest.

Maybe the Universal Restore provides a 'BACK DOOR" that will allow me to clone this "DYNAMIC VOLUME" another way?

    We'll see.
  7. completely dumbed down the program, it was awesome til the last 2 updates.
  8. I purchased a WD hard drive that came with Acronis True Image 2016. I followed the directions on the video very carefully and it work perfectly. Thanks Acronis for a good product.
  9. I just used the Acronis bootable media (created with Acronis TI 2016) to restore an image to my drive and on the first attempt it incorrectly attempted to restore a 193GB image to a 100GB drive. I didn't pick the 100GB drive as the target and, in fact, I couldn't because the option was greyed out due to it being too small. Despite the fact that I chose the correct drive (I'm sure because I always read the confirmation before doing an operation) it tried to restore to the wrong drive and failed halfway through with a "disk full" error. I figured maybe it was a fluke (the 100GB drive was connected via USB) so I tried the operation again. I didn't think my other drives were in danger as they were connected via SATA. The operation succeeded and I booted into Windows and opened Disk Management to see if there were any partitions on the 100GB drive. Unfortunately, it somehow deleted the partition from a 500GB drive as well. Luckily the data is replaceable (Steam games and .iso/utilities) but a pain nonetheless. The desktop application is crap as well. It costs $50 yet it's basically nagware. There are a bunch of utilities in the program that are locked behind a paywall. Not to mention the fact that it wouldn't even run on my laptop until I forced it to use the high performance graphics mode in CCC. It's a known issue that was supposed to have been fixed on the newest build. I never had an issue with Acronis TI 2013 and decided to upgrade to 2016, in part, because of the fact that the bootable media supports WiFi. Except it doesn't work. It recognizes my network adapter but never locates any WiFi networks. Every other Linux based utility I've used works just fine with my wireless NIC. I guess I'll go back to Clonezilla as I don't even trust TI 2013 now.
  10. "Do not boot your computer with two identical disks, one of your disks will become unbootable"

What? I do this every day, until I restored from a backup and the ... usual backup drive dropped its drive letter. So now it doesn't spin up, which is very nice. Oh I just now realized I won't have a backup unless I add the drive letter again!
  11. Ummm... guys, I have a suggestion for newer versions or update: clone to multiple discs. I mean, I use clonezilla for this, but many of my colleagues use Acronis for work and there is no "clone to multiple discs" options... and most workstations can have up to 10 HDDs. It would be nice to just make something like "job queue", leave it to finish and do something else in meantime.
  12. How can i clone a hdd to a ssd using windows 7 with Acronis true image 2016
  13. Do i have to have a separate software for each laptop i want to clone its hdd to a ssd?or i can use one software to clone diverse hdd on diverse laptops
  14. The bootable version of True Image 2016 still has a Windows Vista look.  This was true also for ATI 2013 and  ATI 2014.  Why not update it to look similar to the new ATI  2016 look?
