  2. My computer crashed after i have done this
  3. I did everything just like you said but my PC want boot from the new cloned drive. Im really not sure where I went wrong :-( The PC will only boot from the old drive, I've been into the boot menu and it shows all my drives but it just want boot from them.
  4. i have a 1tb hdd and i want to get a 250gb ssd for windows and a few games, how can i go about doing this ?
  5. So I have an old 2 TB hard drive and I have a new 2 TB hard drive. I want to clone the old one to the new one. After I connect the new hard drive to my computer and I am running my operating system from the old one, do I clone the old disk to the new one while I am still using it? Or do I have to go on a third disk and copy the old one to the new one while the old one is not in use? My question is can I clone the old disk to the new one while I am still on the old disk running my operating system and cloning software? Or will it not work because the disk is in use and being edited?

  7. hello tech steve i am a IT professional and i want to stop by and support and subscribe to your channel .
  8. Well Done!
  9. I don't get the bit where he picks his source and the destination on the program, the harddrive pluged in with usb is his source and the one in his laptop should be the destination but when he does it, it's the the opposite .....

Explain properly the pluged in harddrive with usb is that your source and the one in your laptop is the destination
  10. I cloned a half filled 1TB hard drive on to a 2 TB hard drive and the destination drive was the same size as my other drive.
  11. ok this is good now i have one mac with a 480GB SSD ( which is not full and i can swap to and windows 10 machine with 240GB SSD, i now want to swap the drives as windows machine is now main. I have an external drive. where i can dump the image now question is what software would be best to do this job and should I do this on mac or on windows?
  12. I have a quick question, if you don't mind. Still kind of new to all this, but would like to update my computer and make it faster. So, I recently purchased an HP Envy x360 i5 w/ 1TB 5400rpm HD and purchased a Sandisk Plus 120gb SSD. I wanted to know if there will be any problems from start to finish coming from the 1TB to the smaller 128g SSD? Some people have said that I'll only be able to go up in size, or I'll need to resize the file in order for it to fit to a smaller HD. This laptop is a week old with nothing on it. And, nothing on the SSD as well. I was also curious to know if I would need to fully reinstall windows 10 on my computer IF I used this program or another, like Macrium Reflect (free version)? I'd rather do clone process externally with a SATA adapter, then just install the SSD as the final step without any harm done. I'm not too computer savv, so I'm reaching out.
  13. Thanks for the informative video. Questions:
    1) Does it matter which drive the Cloning software is installed and running from (Source or Destination) when initiating clone? (Wouldn't it glitch/loop trying to clone to or from a hard drive that is running a program?)

    2) Or do you need to boot from a separate boot CD/DVD disk instead of running clone software on Source or destination disk during the clone process?
  14. lol That's what I am saying Steve I took out the original drive and put in the clone but on boot.
  15. Hi Tech Steve, I want to clone from one laptop to a new one. Can I just connect straight to the new ones USB port and not take the hard drive out. Also does that mean all my programs that had keys that I had to apply will all work still without readding them? I have a lot of photography programs and games.
  16. I have to question? you when you clone to that disk where you able to boot from the clone disk?
  17. you have to buy the software to clone.
  18. Hello I have a 1 TB hard drive. If I want to transfer my files to an external hard drive, do I highlight them, click copy and click on the external hard drive icon?
  19. I did this, from a 320GB to a 1TB, but my computer still stats it's a 320GB. What do I do now?
