  1. Shit didn't work
  2. must have missed something...

started clone process. Added new SSD to macbook pro (early 2011). Downloaded Superduper. Ran program per instructions and it LOOKED like all was copied to new SSD from factory HDD drive.

    Program said it was complete.

But it will NOT boot to new SSD.

starts a line under the Apple but then stops and shuts off.

I plug back in HDD drive (still on external cable) and that is the only way it will boot.

    ???
  3. when cloning to the SSD as instructed in the video will the "Restore" hidden partition also be cloned over to the new SSD?
So after installing the new SSD will I still have that Restore option?
  4. hey what is the reason for some people erasing the ssd and others partition and do not erase when setting up the ssd in disk utility?
  5. LMAO omfg...."we are not exactly breaking any recooowds" (records) haha that shit was hilarious ...good one bro!
  6. Running Yosemite on a late 2008 MBP. I did it the process twice and although I can see the files copied the new drive (not an SSD) it does not show up as bootable. Any ideas. ??
  7. hi I have a macbook air which does not power on due to some power issues and I have some data on it.
If i transfer my ssd to my friends macbook same model will my operating system boot up on his machine?
  8. I replaced the optical drive with an ssd and i want to move the os from the hd to the ssd. Do i just follow these steps?
  9. Fantastic video, I looked at a few different ones and yours was the best one for my solution (cable). Thanks mate!
  10. I just bought a early 2011 MacBook Pro and am trying to upgrade to 16GB RAM and upgrade the HDD to a SSD. The only problem is that I bought it used and it has the Adobe Suite and Final Cut Pro already installed on the hard drive. I want to upgrade but I dont want to lose the software because I didnt get any activation codes. I would hate to upgrade and then end up losing the software. Is there any way to do the upgrade without making the software ask for the activation codes?
  11. My write and read speeds increased to around 210MB/s when installed into a 2010 white macbook running El Capitan with 9GB of RAM. A lot less than what you managed in this vid. Any ideas mate? I also used Carbon Copy Cloner instead of Super Duper.
  12. Does this work with Sierra ?
  13. Worked for me, on my Early 2011 13.3" MBP in September 2016 with El Capitan. I had cloned my original 320gb hdd onto a new Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD. Yesterday, on my first attempt, I hadn't updated the Super Duper software, and I ran into issues while attempting to boot from the SSD. On my second attempt, I updated Super Duper to the latest version and the whole process worked well. It might be useful to know that once you've followed all of Rod's steps here, make sure you set the cloned SSD as your boot up disk. Thanks Rod for this and the follow-up installation video. Cheers
  14. Can i clone my macbook air harddisk to the ssd and then install the ssd into a macbook pro??
I bought a pro non retina and want to put an ssd drive, and i want everything on my mac air, to go on to my mac pro.
    This seems the easiest way?
  15. When you clone an SSD is Mac OS (operating system) also copied together with files? or I have to install it separately?
  16. Great video.I do not have the adapter you are using, but I do have an enclosure for external drives. That should still work, right?
  17. Does this work with Yosemite?
  18. Your the best, worked like a charm while watching your easy to follow vid. Liked and followed.

  20. Thank you a lot for you video! I followed all the proceed and and at the end I run the disk speed test (selected the new ssd) and i had this message: "Disk speed test cannot be run on the selected location because it is read only." It everything ok?
