You will need a USB flash drive (at least 8GB), preferably USB 3.0 so it works faster.   Step one, download macOS Sierra from the Mac Appstore. When it’s downloaded, close the installer window using the command CMD+Q: In Finder, go to Applications and right click on Install macOS Sierra app and choose Show Package Contents, then go to Contents - Resources: Now open a Terminal window and type the “sudo” followed by a space, then drag createinstallmedia file from the folder opened earlier into the terminal window: Add “--volume" followed by a space. Connect the USB drive and drag the USB drive icon from your desktop to the Terminal window: Type “--applicationpath” followed by a space. In Finder go to Applications and drag Install macOS Sierra application into the Terminal window: Press Return on your keyboard, type your password then press Y and then Return when asked to do so. The install process will begin by erasing the contents of your USB disk and copying the installer files to the USB disk. The entire process is quite lengthy and can take about 20-30 minutes. Once the process completes you will have working USB macOS Sierra install disk that can be used for a fresh install:
