  1. Hi. My initial OS was Lion. Of course there have been a fair few Operating Systems released since then. Is there a way to rest the mac so that it does a fresh install of the most recent OS rather than the one it came with?
  2. Tried to memorize the steps then do it myself... I failed on the first step 😂 Thanks gee, I thought mine wouldn't work since it's the olddd version MacBook Air but eyy
  3. hell yeah it did work thanks guy
  4. FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO, is sign out of iCloud and Messages. NEXT THING YOU NEED TO DO is deauthorize account in iTunes. Then Sign out. Then proceed to steps above.....very important. Always make sure you're connected to WiFi.

  6. I did this and now I'm getting a no entry sign upon start up. Did I do something wrong?

  12. I got to the part where I am to re-install the OS Y Yosemite and my computer gives me a message that this item is temporary unavailable.. ???? What do i do???
  13. Thank You
  14. Is so helpful for me, thanks bigdaddyW!
  15. Yo. I had the same issue where it says "This item is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." I did this and it went through successfully. So for anyone that bought a secondhand macbook, here's what to do:
    Step 1: restart
Step 2: hold down Option + Command + R (not just Command + R) << this is critical!
What this does is that it will start up from internet recovery. more info here: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204904
You will notice that this will bring you to an older version of your mac. (in my case it brought me back to OS X Lion instead of OS X Yosemite when I pressed Command + R. This is an early 2011 macbook pro, so that makes sense).
Step 3: go to reinstall OS X. If you do it correctly it won't ask for your Apple ID at all because this is a "hard" factory reset. it assumes as if you just bought this off the store and you're the first user.

    Thumbs up if it helps.
  16. Worked for me - cheers dude!
