How to fix Nokia Lumia stuck on spinning gears after update

After trying to update from Windows phone 8.1 to Windows Phone 10 my Nokia Lumia 625 was bricked (unresponsive). It was stuck on the spining gears screen and would not respond to a hard or soft reset. This site had the solution: http://thepockettech.com/fix-a-bricked-lumia-phone-with-nokia-software-updater-for-retail/ You need this software: http://nds2.fds-fire.nokia.com/fds_fire/1310/0909/7297834135/NokiaSoftwareUpdaterForRetail_4.1.0.exe and a bit of time.

  3. My phone got stuck at gears. Connecting power charger to my phone and restarting ( re-inserting battery) worked !
