If you are not able to open certain excel files with an error message while opening "This file is corrupt and cannot be opened", you can fix it by changing the "protected view" settings in Excel 2013. Click on File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, Protected View. Uncheck all items there! Close Excel and open it again and open your folder! It should be working fine now! Hope it works! If it doesn't work, please let's know! Your feedbacks will help us to serve you better! Sorry, this fix doesn't work for me. I have an HP Envy 360 Touchsmart and certain excel files develop the message and won't open, no apparent reason. Wish you solution works but not for me.
