Ruined USB Thumb Drive? Computer Geek to the Rescue! 1. Open Command Prompt by typing CMD into the run box or just the bottom of the Start Menu 2. Open Computer Management by typing COMPMGMT.MSC into run or the bottom of the Start Menu 3. type DISKPART into the CMD prompt window 4. under the DISKPART(CMD) window type LIST DISK 5. select the correct disk by typing SELECT DISK number here 6. select the correct partition (usually only one) by typing SELECT PARTITION number here 7. remove the partition by typing DELETE PARTITION OVERRIDE 8. once that is completed, right click on the unallocated space within the Computer Management tool and select "New Simple Volume." 9. Make sure you have the maximum size listed correctly, then continuously hit next & then finish 10. You are all set! Thanks for watching!

  12. Hi CyberPunk. Thanks for taking time to put up the tutorial! But I still have a bit of trouble here. Hope you could help out. I went in in "computer management" and have disks 0 and 1 there with disk 1 being my pendrive, however, that right side that would show all the partitions is all blank. I went in anyway in the cmd prompt as admin, did the "diskpart" + "list part" and only disk 0 came up. :( (disk 1, my pendrive didn't came up) . I did "select disk 1" anyway, then it came message "disk1 is now the selected disk" ... ... If I try do do "select partition 1 or whatever" it says no partiton to show... If I try "delete partition override #" it will obviously say "there are no partitio selected" ... I am a bit in a dead end. Any ideas how to go around this and get in to access my data?? Any help would be massively appreciated.
