What the crap...why is every single video about external drives about using them for back up...does anyone have a video for how to configure a hardrive just for added storage? you know...THAT OTHER PRIMARY REASON for why external harddrives were invented??? especially for those who are running out of disk space

  12. Hi, I am wondering about formatting my external to FAT32 as i wanted my hard drive to work on both my mac and pc. However, I really need Time Machine to back it up and I am concerned about the comments in this tutorial saying the Time Machine backup will fail if the hard drive fails. Isn't the whole point of Time Machine to have your data there if the hard drive fails? Does anyone have any advice about what I should do? Thanks!
