I tried this and get an error and it says it cannot open the device so operation failed. Anything else I can try? I have tired different format options and scheme and get the same result.
i bought a new 64 gb micro sd and ut it in my camera it says memory full ive tried it in ms fat and ex fat what the hell how do i work my camera

I just did this & when i put the memory card in my camera, it still says Write protected.
The MicroSD card from my dash cam (32MB, Class 6; won't use Class 10) got full, but I couldn't erase the videos because the card was set up Read Only. I tried everything to erase them or reformat the card on my iMac, but couldn't do either, nor could I change permissions, even using basic UNIX commands in my terminal window. The Disk Utility also failed. It wasn't until I watched this video that I realized I had to erase not the card itself, but the higher level directory (on the video, shown as Mass Storage) using Disk Utility. That did it! So with fat32 can all the files on the card equal more than 4 gb or does it just mean one specific file of all of them can not be over 4 gb? What if I have 3 2gb files? Not one is over 4 gb but together they are more than 4gb.
My disk utility gets stuck when i try this - what do i do?

I keep sliding the "lock switch" to "unlock" on the SD card and it is not letting me write anything to the card? What's wrong?

i have a mico sd that is set to "read only" how to fix this? and set it to "read and write"
U should set the partition map to MBR. Master boot record . If u want to use it on phone or camera. Cuz ex my note 4 cant read other partition map and can only read MBR partition map
so,if i click erase is that deleting whatever i have on my sd card??
