In this video I will explain how to remove Windows passwords or access an account without removing a password, using only the command prompt, by using a bootable command prompt to replace the sticky keys function with a command prompt and then using the net user command to remove the password.   5. Thanks for this. I forgot part of the password to the only account on a new install and it's a pain in the ass to try to access it from my Linux partition because I forgot that Windows 8 doesn't fully shut down without some messing around.

    While it certainly helped me out, I don't like how easy it is for someone with this knowledge and physical access to do this. I see that even Linux has a similar issue. At the risk of losing data, I'm strongly considering complete HDD encryption.

  16. Dude. Dude. My Brother from another. Dude. Thank you, thank you, lol thank you. I bought a computer from the Thrift Store for $0.69.... That's Right, Sixty Nine Cents. It was Password Protected. You saved me by having the info I needed about the ( Quotation Marks ) when using a full/two part name so that the PC or Command could recognize my input.. Thank You Very Much. P.S The PC was cleaned of all personal info but only had that unknown Password..
