  2. Thanks. I'm getting a "Password:" prompt after I paste the code into Terminal. I've tried several versions of the code, but all with the same outcome. Any advice?

  4. Does it work for MacOS Sierra too?
  5. I just completed this last night. Upgraded my Ram from 4 to 8gb, my storage from 320gb HD to 1TB SSD and restored from time machine on my MBP early 2011. It works GREAT! I am so happy with its performance now. Thanks for the video!
  6. Thank you so much for posting this video! It single-handedly helped me install a new OS and bring new life to my early 2011 MBP. Thank you again and Happy New Year 2017!
  7. Early 2011, A1278, 13 Inches MBP Unibody:

Swapped Apple's 320GB Hard Drive with Samsung Evo850 250GB SSD Drive.
I was getting about 40MB/s read and 25MB/s write speed with Apple hard drive.
With Evo850, 250G I am getting around 240MB/s write and 510MB/s read speed.

My MBP is now smooth.. very smooth... :)
  8. For macoOS Sierra run this:

    sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction

Remember: you will have to remove the dash that comes between "createins-tallmedia" to "createinstallmedia".
  9. With all the data/files/photos/music left on your old hard drive, can you plug the old HD into the laptop via USB and drag and drop your old data/files/photos/music back onto your desktop?

  16. If I wanted to do a clean install on the new ssd can I just instal the hardware then have the option to install fresh OS? Or do I have to make a clone and all that BS. I am not worried about loosing any files. Will the Mac load up with a new ssd and give me the option to install a clean OS?
