Link updated for Android 2.3.7 - I found a link. WOO. Here is a quick tutorial I made on how to install Gingerbread on the Motorola Droid A855. This phone still needs its love. :3 Downloads: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5N-tZQ7QQfEUTVIVDVlS04zV1U/edit You MUST be rooted: watch my video on how to root the Droid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m17KZmOMsR0 _____ FAQ Q. When I make a call, the person I called cannot hear me and I cannot hear him either through the earpiece! A. Hold power and reboot your phone once, that should fix it. Q. Installation went well, but when I rebooted, I'm still in Froyo! A. This is a common issue. Re-enter recovery, and go into the mounts and storage section. Wipe EVERYTHING you see in there EXCEPT sdcard. Just flash the ROM again afterwards. DO NOT EXIT RECOVERY WITHOUT FLASHING THE ROM!!! Q. My DROID is bootlooping at the Droid eye animation! A.Go back into recovery by turning off the device, and hold X while powering up the phone. When in recovery, wipe your phone, wipe your cache, go into the Advanced section, and wipe your Dalvik cache. Go back, and just reboot your phone, and all should be good. c: **Also, this tutorial is NOT for the Motorola MILESTONE.

  1. Thx for the info.. next time try not to move around so much.. leave the phone & camera stationary.
  2. Im having a problem where I did everything you said but after i click apply sdcard:update.zip and pushed yes. It said Cant open  (no such file or directory) installation aborted. PLEASE HELP!
  3. Is this method not compatiable with a 16gb SD card? I have followed all the instructions but when i go to do my backup it says there is 0 space on my card. When I check the card under settings I have 14gb free. It also won't apply the update.zip; it says No Such File or Directory, however when I view it within ROM Manager I can see the update.zip file, select it and choose Install, it will reboot and attempt to install, but then tell me it can't find the file. If I choose Install Mod from Zip I can see all of my folders on my SD card, but not the .zip file (which is in the root folder of my card.)
  4. Recovery seems to be picky. Just rename the file to somethingsomething whatever.zip, and then go back into recovery and select the "choose zip from sd" something among those lines. Select the zip manually and flash it from there.
  5. In the nandroid backup, I get "no sd-ext" found.. Then in apply sdcard:update. zip, I get "can't open /sdcard/update.zip. No such file or directory. Installation aborted".
  6. Great response time! I just noticed that I see on my PC update.zip in my download folder and also on E: (phone) but on the phone I don't see it on the SD Card nor anywhere else. Normal? To be clear, I rename Update.zip to Update? Assuming the CMR install works, you next ask for a download of a second ZIP file, GPAdeox(spelling?). Where is that file to be found?
  7. The way I had my Windows set up was to show file extensions. I should've mentioned this in the video, darn x-x. Rename the file to just "update" without the quotations. The zip is there, Windows just hides it. Also, go back into ROM Manager and reflash ClockworkMod Recovery again. Power off then Power + X again.
  8. Many thanks for doing this. I got update.zip into the Android root, did the Power X routine and Clockwork Mod Recovery came up. I selected Install from SD Card but CMR could not find update.zip. I restarted and the phone powered up normally. I then tried Power X again, and the phone froze with a triangle with an exclamation point, and picture of the phone. The Droid didn't respond to the power button. Removed the battery, replace, phone starts normally. Any ideas?
  9. I put a new link up. Tell me how it goes if you can.
  10. Link went dead and I don't have a backup of the GPA15 zip. I'll try again to find a similar ROM, however, I don't own a original Droid anymore so I can't do any testing.
  11. Is it worth doing this?
  12. I can't find the GPA15 download ROM anywhere. What happened?
  13. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa linkkk plllssssdsdsxssdsdsertc6g6guku7 :(
  14. Can you update a flashed phone? I have a Droid 1 that my brother uses. It was flashed to Metro PCS. It's been stuck on 2.1. Now that processor sucks.
  15. Thanks for uploading this video about installation of android in motorola. I was searching for this long time and atlast i found nice video. Does installation of android in motrolla ex122 needs some other steps or should we follow the same steps shown above?
  16. Is this version avaible for Droid Pro?
  17. Link's officially dead. I have no backups of that ROM whatsoever, and after vigorous Googling, not even I can find a mirror. I'll put up an alternative ROM in a few hours. School and junk.
  18. I have no clue, been doing research but came up with no roms
  19. I'm giving this a bump. Any working links to the rom?
  20. Dude...i go to the ROM manager but as i press the flashclockWorkMod it says error....how do i fix that?
