Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was a bit lost when TWRP for nougat would not install with the install tool. I had Marshmallow installed but had no keyboard! So following your video I went back to KitKat and got the Evervolv version of Nougat installed. Now I can watch DISHANYWHERE again. Dish Network made all Android 4 devices obsolete with a software push. Haven't tested dishanywhere yet but Evervolv is coming up. Very clear and concise instructions saved my bacon!!

Suggestions? Following your awesome directions several weeks ago, it appears that everything "worked" - as it shows as of today that I have 7.1.1 / Kernel 3.4.113-tenderloin+ and get notices for ROM updates which I update when I use the pad - latest being March 8 ... But - after seeing how responsive your unit is with gaming etc - something is "missing" performance wise from mine. It lags - or stalls - occasionally even freezes. It will be fine - play You Tube videos smoothly for an hour - then when I try to do something else - it just lags - or won't react. I can certainly repeat the entire process if I need to - but with "logic" (zero technical comprehension) I figure I'll get the same results. I keep thinking that one of the nightly updates will magically fill in the missing blank of whatever I may have messed up to not get the performance that you do. EDIT - another evidence glitch is the wallpaper - that I don't care for teal blue with brown mustard & purple = if I change that to something else - it reverts back to the same wallpaper that came with the download... Thanks for any guidance!

Hi Roland – Great video, easy to understand and follow - And now my Touchpad is running Android 7.1 – WOW! – Thank you so much for giving my Touch pad new life. I’ll also thank the rom developers.
Couple of questions:
Once 7.1 is installed and google account added, Android did not ask me to restore my touchpad with a previous set of apps - can this be done? I tried to do a factory reset hoping Android might ask me to restore a previous set of Apps but Factory Reset does not work.
I installed CM11 4.4.4 then installed 7.1 which I assume overwrites CM11 4.4.4. Don’t understand why CM11 4.4.4 needed to be installed. I guess the zip file is still there so I would need to install it or is there another way? -
Thank you very much! For the longest time, my TouchPad has been running CM 10. Jelly Bean has been obsolete, so I was looking for a way to update it and remove webOS. This vid and your guide were very helpful, and I'd recommend this video for anyone with a TouchPad that's collecting dust.

Thank goodness for YouTube and your pleasant easy to follow tutorial. You basically handed everything to us on a silver platter :D
I went from CM9 but I'll stop at KitKat for now since you mentioned this was rock solid stable. I'll give 7.1 a little more time to hash itself out. Mos def bookmarking this vid for when I come back for the Nuggy upgrade. -
Trying to copy Flintman into downloads folder and get message saying device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected but it is connected and has power

First let me start by saying awesome video with clear instructions. Unfortunately, I'm running into a problem and I'm not sure why. I'm not much of a tech person myself so if anyone could help, that would be awesome. I get to the step at 8:30 of the video. Both "flint" and "gapps" copy just fine. However when i got to copy "ev_tenderloin-7.1.1-nightly-2017.02.14.zip" to the downloads area it stops just before the 50% mark. It will stay there for awhile and then a message will come up saying it can't be copied. Thanks in advance :)

Update from 5.1 (final version) to 7.1 (20170212 version). The performance and stability get better. Camera is inverted but somehow it works normally in Skype. By the way, I can't pick up the call from skype in 5.1 (loss connection immediately) but it looks fine in 7.1.

Thank you so much! The instructions were really clear.

Awesome video. Thank you for continued support of my HPTP tablets. I bought 5 at the initial fire sale and have used your videos to update them all the way up to KitKat. Going to give this build a try on my own TP. Looking forward to a stable build in Nougat at some point. Many, many thanks for your videos!!
