I have a at&t locked q10 and I know that they have released later versions than what's currently on my device 10.1.xxx

It's a phone I will switch to in the next couple days so I thought I'd try and update the os quick but it says, "up to date" when I try. Does it need to have an active sim in it? If I need to use a version of the newest autoloader 10.3.3 etc can I do this on a Mac?
