  2. Install Xubuntu 16.04.1 with an SSD, amazing fast for a netbook. Booting in 12 seconds, browser start in 3 seconds...

  4. ALL virus checkers/blockers slow down ALL machines. By ~20%.
  5. Cloud storage is monitored by the CIA, the FBI, the FDA, the US Army, Homeland Security and Ronald McDonald.

  9. Lot of work there! thank you. One thing, I took the offer for W10 (although now I read it's free only for one year!) But on install the system told me to get rid of Trend Mic Tita. and I was only able to do it on safe mode....Wow I did not notice you uploaded this in 2011....So I'll stop here!
  10. just remove as much software as you can especially things like the online webstorage, these days people should not be using online storage because of security issues.

  19. Linux Mate Mint is also a good alternative.
    With Win7 the system run about 15min, then overheats without any real apllication running. Videos or surfing will make the system shut off (not down!) after 10min. ...
