Hi my name is Roger Ahuja. With more and more machines shipping with SSD drives and SSD drives being smaller than traditional drives. I've found that people are running out of space on their SSD drive. So, I'm going to touch on a few techniques to free space on your SSD drive. This is one of several videos so be sure to check out my other videos if this particular technique doesn't help you. So many of the new computers coming out have a small SSD drive and a large traditional drive. If your computer is one of those computers and you're running low on space on your C drive, you can move your My Documents, My Videos, My Music, My Pictures and Downloads folders to the secondary drive and that's what we're going to go over now. So, we're going to click on the desktop and go down here and once we're here I'm just going to show you my computer real quick. I go to file explorer down here and I go to computer and as you can see I've only got 8 gig's free approximately, but I've got plenty of space free on my secondary drive. So, I've already looked to see where the space is being used up and it's primarily in my downloads folder so I'm going to go to the C drive and go to the users folder and this is the test account I'm in and here if I hover the mouse over the downloads folder you can see it shows there's 44.6 gigs is the size of that downloads folder. So I'm going to now move this folder over to the D drive. It's a very simple process. You right click on the downloads folder and you go to properties and then you go up here to location and all I'm going to do is change this letter from c to d and leave everything else the same. And then I'm going to go ahead and hit okay. Now it's going to prompt me that the folder doesn't exist and do I want to create it? I say yes. Now it's going to prompt me do I want to move all the contents of the current location to the new location? I say yes again. It's going to take a few moments because it is 46 gigs and you can see here it's copying. So, now the process is almost done here. Okay, so once that finishes you can see that the downloads folder is gone and if you look at the computer now I've got 52 gigs free where previously I had about 8 and all the space has gone over here and if we look at the d drive under users test and there's the downloads folder and you can repeat this process with the contacts folder, the desktop, the my music, my documents, my pictures and my videos and that's it.
