  2. external hdd partitioned on mac in fat format is not working on windows when connected via usb 3.0. It's working when connected via usb 2.0

    Also if I wanted to create a partition specifically for media as oppose to mac and the other two for time machine and windows there shouldn't be a problem right?

  16. This is not quite right to say that " time machine will not use more space than the internal hardrive" it will , Time Machine keeps your backups and deletes them once your hard drive is filled. There is more than one backup stored on that hard drive ,Time Machine allows you to restore to a previous backup, since Time Machine may keep 7 or 8 backups on that drive ; (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/100780/how-big-should-my-time-machine-backup-drive-be)
