  5. Hello there, I stumbled on this a while back and I really need help on this. I own a rarely used Sony vaio for a few months with no issues, when last week I was working on a few projects (as well as removing unneeded files and organizing a few things) It started to freeze, after leaving it alone for a while, I shut it off to turn on to see the message "Operating system not found" , searching for answers from my tablet, I searched for the issue, (my laptop is sony vaio model: pc6-71312l ) , I couldn't use the assist button, it only starts up the system, no list of options and the f8 isn't working well either, only f2 , but it's no good as well, it's boot selection only has external device boot [disabled/enabled], network boot [Disabled /enabled ] as well as the boot priority three list [internal hard disk drive, network, external device], I removed the hard drive to had it checked at Best Buy (hard drive is wd 500gb) only to later found out that it's completely failed, (only need to get my laptop in functioning order), so I decided to get the same item, only to try it in order to see the same "Operating system not found " message, what can i do to restore my pc back in working order? (I saved most files on storage), would I need a set of recovery disks?.

Plz help I did a recovery yesterday from the assist button options cause my VAIO had the "preparing automatic repar es" loop problem, but recovery stop to proceed and showed some error so since then when I turn on it shows me the assist button options (bios,troubleshooting) I choose the options for recovery again but VAIO care rescue mode doesn't appear again it stucks. If anybody knows what's happening please show me a way to solve that...

  14. HELP! Sorry to bother you! I need help! I know what I'm doing with the laptop. When i open Vaio care and follow the steps to come to the Recover or maintain your system option it is missing! I tried https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37556 this tutorial but after i choose the same option it gives me an error that it's missing the recovery files! I might have accidentally defragmented the recovery partition if thats the case... I need help i don't want to install Windows from a generic Windows Disc, i want the Vaio Windows edition! Please, help! I'm desperate! My laptop: SVE1513R1E.
