How to recover a Dynamic Invalid Disk in Windows 7 / 8 / 10

A tutorial on how to bring back online a invialid disk which may have occured after updating a service pack. (SAME STEPS FOR WINDOWS 8) IF YOU HAVE PARTITIONS: for each separate partition you will have to change 42 to 07 for all instances. For example I had 4 partitions and I had to change 1C0,1D0,1E0,1F0 all to 07 from 42 to get them all to show up in explorer. IF LINE 1C0 DOESN'T WORK: For those of you who have tried this fix and changed 1C0 from "42" to "07" and its still invalid.... Check line 1D0 and see it it is a "42" as well.. If so, change this to an "07" as well. If any of those don't work then try changing all 42's to 07. NOTE: DATA MAY OR MAY NOT BE LOST AFTER THIS PROCEDURE.   2. my hard drive is connected but it is showing only 2 volumes out of 6 volumes...on disk management it shows correcct size of 476gb but how can I use other volumes??

  11. IF YOU HAVE 4 PARTITIONS.. I changed 4 partitions to 07 from 42. but unable to save it. because its showing error message as "The media is write protected"

  13. Thank's alot asshole. Your 'excellent' instructions in which you state to open Hard Disk 2 made me fuck up my system. System won't recognize my ssd anymore. Don't follow this tutorial if you want to save yourself some pain!

  16. Hi, I can only get 2 drives. Another drives shown as D:/ not accessible Parameter Incorrect. As u said I have partitions and I changed all from 42 to 07. I converted my another Laptop HDD and connected to another Laptop.

  18. I have changed the hard disks of my computer. I made the previous hard disk an external hard drive by using an external HDD cas. I want to copy a folder from a particular partition from the drive to my new drive. But after connecting the drive to the system I am unable to see it in My comuter. In disk Management it shows as 'Dynamic Invalid Disk'. After watching your tutorial I tried to follow the steps you mentioned, but was unable to see 42 or 07 in any of the Partition you mentioned in the Hard Disk 2. I can only see 0 in all the columns.
