Does your hard drive make a buzzing noise when you turn it on? Or does it make clicking noises or not spin up? Well, in this video I will show you how to fix this fairly common problem which is caused by the drive's heads getting stuck on the platters. You'll definitely need this before starting: http://amzn.to/2mO5DRB In some cases, data recovery software may have to be used. Here is a good one to check out: Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery - Professional http://bit.do/stellarphoenix Want to be extra safe? You can build a clean air enclosure. Here's a video all about that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPEa0Wc9iUc

  1. You'll definitely need this before starting any repair job: http://amzn.to/2mO5DRB

  4. this doesnt look like data recovering lol
  5. I have a dropped drive (20 cm drop) that's making all shorts of weird noises. I just need a "dir *.*/s > filelist.txt" to get the file structure. I've opened it and tried to nudge the heads a bit so they move, it didn't work. I think the heads are physically touching the platter. It's probably unsolvable but do you have any advice anyway?
  6. What's the software during 8:17? Some sort of file explorer?
  7. Kösz hawer! Sikerült megjavítani a külső adattárolót a videód alapján!
    Kegyetlenül jól tolod!
    Na heló
  8. It is truth. Opening hard disk drive at home will kill it. It will die. The faster it spins, the faster it will die. The more dust it ingest the faster it will die. It will die - there is no question. Even tiniest spec of dust is tens of not hundreds times bigger then air cushion between head and platter. When dust would get between head and player it will pop up head, head would not come to original position in cushion, but land of rather spam platter and by doing so it will create more dust. It is chain reaction effect. I opened 10025RPMs SCSI hard disk drive, after week it failed catastrophically.
  9. Seriously?
You call your channel data recovery experts?
And you are saying to move heads? Maybe by hand?
Man never, ever move heads. Move platters. Spin player so it emerges from heads (not other way around - hides under heads). You may need a tool to do that, but you should never move heads as you may destroy them.
  10. Some people still manage to dislike these videos :|
  11. Just wounding if that what's happening to my western digital 750gb hard drive. Plug it in then starts making a noise then it spins down again saying uninitialized but when I initialise it says redundancy check error. What sort of screws do I need to open my drive to see if the head is really jammed.? Good video by the way.
