Sometimes a computer is to badly damaged and cannot be repaired or booted but we desperately need to retrieve the photos, documents and other user data from the hard drive. This video discusses and shows how to physically remove the hard disk from a laptop or desktop and mount it in a portable USB hard drive caddie so that we are able to save the information to another device for further storage or use. *Twitter: http://twitter.com/GuruBrewShow *Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/guru.brew All Materials Found Here (c) The Guru Brew Tech Web Show Visit us on the web at: http://www.GuruBrewShow.com

  10. I've got a 6 year old Acer a lot like this one that has black blobs scattered in a few places on the screen. It's just slow and messed up period even though I've hardly used it much in all the years we've had it. And now our 6 year old Dell desktop has fried. It's been slow for awhile and hard to turn back on when we have a power outage. But this time I couldn't get it to turn back on no matter what I tried. My question is it worth taking to a computer place and how can I ensure they won't look at our private pictures and information. I noticed you scrolled part way through this guy's personal pics and that concerns me. Thank you. :)
  11. hello sir, i'm using Dell inspiron 1545. Its internal harddrive was encountered with a problem explained here - When switch on my laptop, a blank screen appears and written there "Internalt for multicore processor will be disabled". I replaced that harddrive with a new, but I kept my old drive to me due to containing a huge data, videos, photos etc. Please, tell me some solution to copy data from that harddrive.
  12. how can i use my external hard drive which i took off from my Old PC now use it on my Mac and not destroying the data on it ?
  13. Loved your information. Did everything you posted including getting things from Amazon to retrieve data from my less than 2 year old laptop. The laptop was working perfectly until we lost internet services and was told by the tech via "chat" to connect the computer up to the modem via ethernet!
the computer went to a black screen and has not been able to turn on since then.
I took the computer to the Geek squad where they told me to put down a deposit because it wasn't related to a virus and was computer related. They would take it apart and charge me accordingly.
Well, I took the hard drive out; set it up via USB where a message came on the screen stating something like the data had a serious problem and to "fix Now" or disregard. I chose "Fix" Now where this computer experienced the same thing!!!!! Deductive reasoning is telling me that something happened in the initial "Ethernet" experience!
    PLEASE Help with advice!
  14. Hi... I wanted to ask you something ... I have a 2010 Mac Book pro lap top, and i been through a situation in which turning on the computer would take so long and then when the screen pops up, that rainbow circle starts and would not stop at all.. So i took it to apple and they claim that the hard drive inside is burned out..Though the guest login from the computer works to use internet. Not my own account. Though i lost so much family photos and videos that was stored in there. Photos from when I was young until present.. Now can i retrieve those data out even though apple could not retreive them and then later tried to send me to someone else to get the data out and spend over $1,000 bucks to get them?... I didn't do of course.. but i wanted to know if its possible that the data can still be located and transferred into another computer from a mac to a PC?.. please let me know if this is possible. Thanks a lot.

  16. Hey Guru, watched your video..very good...I have 2 dead laptops and 3 dead desktops, all hp products.. They were totally dead and wouldn't even fire up anymore. So, I removed the hard drives, and am going to dump the computers. Like everybody else I want to get my junk off the hd, I looked on eBay for the device you showed you put the had in to transfer the data, didn't have a lot of luck. What am I supposed to be looking for? I saw a Sata-use cable, will that work? I want to put my stuff on an external hard drive. I am mildly electronically retarded, you think I can do this?
  17. Please, help me! I took my computer in and they said the hard drive is frozen. This happened after my computer had trouble booting (error: 3F0: boot device not found). I have very important documents on there that I need. Any advice, and please don't tell me that it's all gone forever.
  18. Hi,

I tried transferring to my new computer both hps. I looks like it transferred over but in the f drive there are just numbers . i am not sure what i did wrong
  19. Should this process work if I'm attempting to pull data off of an old laptop that was running on XP--> to a contemporary macbook. I'm just looking to pull my old photos and documents off of a dead computer. Thanks for the video!
