How to Recover files from RAW File System Seagate external hard drives

When i plug the seagate external hard drive to computer's USB port. Microsoft Windows showing the message 'You need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it'. Disk Management shows it is RAW drive, belongs to RAW File System. When i use CHKDSK command, it is showing that the type of the file system is RAW. CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives. Solution: When your'e prompted with the message 'You need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it', click Format disk. This will format your drive with NTFS File system. Then use EaseUS Data Recovery software to recover the files. This works.

  2. Disk drive wouldnt format comes up in explorer. but wont format easeus doesnt work keeps trying to scan drive. tried on my mates pc.
    It is raw file system.
