Sometimes the user deletes a file by mistake and might want to recover it. For this tutorial, we will be using an application named Data Rescue 3. You can open up the MAC Appstore and search for the application. You will be required to purchase the application before you can use it. This application will allow you to recover a deleted file on mac. Step 1 -- Start new scan Open up Data Rescue 3 once it has been installed and the welcome screen will appear in front of you. Over there, we will start with a new scan so that the application searches for files which have been recently deleted in the selected drive. Step 2 -- Perform a quick scan In the next step, you will need to select the type of task you want the application to perform. For now, let's do a quick scan and the processing would start. Step 3 -- Recover a file With that completed, all the files found by the application would be displayed. If you are not sure in which particular directory the file was located in, you can directly search for the file within the application. For example, we have searched for the screenshot that we deleted earlier. And you can see in the screenshot below that the file is displayed in the results here. Now let's tick the checkbox for the particular image and click on the recover option. It will ask you to choose the destination where you want the file to be saved. For this tutorial, we have chosen the desktop as the location. With that done, the processing will start and your file will be recovered.
