Incidentally, This is Step 2 if you have finished watching the video for Step 1, titled 'How To Clean Install OS X Mavericks or if you have already done a clean install of Mavericks from an earlier stage, what follows is the process to recover a recovery HD partition. Unlike when doing a Clean Install of OS X Mountain Lion, where the Recovery HD partition is created for you automatically, well thing have changed slightly, when doing a Clean Install of Mavericks, the Recovery partition is not created. The Recovery HD partition is of importance...especially if you want to use FileVault or activate the Find My Mac Options, which both relies on the Recovery HD being present. ...So...Let's Get Started "What You'll need" 1. An Intel Based Mac System where a Clean Install of OS X Mavericks has been performed. 2. A Copy of OS X Mavericks Installer. As always, before proceeding, make sure that you have a backup of your entire hard drive(s), just in case something goes wrong. If you don't have a copy of the Mavericks Installer handy...you will need to download it form the Mac App Store. Now...assuming that you have a copy of the Mavericks Installer in the Application Folder...Launch the Mavericks installer by Double clicking on the Mavericks Icon...the Installation will begin after agreeing to the terms. This is like doing an Upgrade, where all profile settings, User ID's and installed Apps are all preserved. Some sections has been time lapse where appropriate ...let's face it...who wants to watch paint dry. The Mac will auto boot a couple of times for the installation to complete. The Entire Install process took about 50 minutes. After the installation is complete, you will be brought back to the Login screen, login then shut down the Mac, for an immediate shutdown, hold down the Option Key while clicking on Shut Down. And as before, restart the Mac with the Power Button and Option Key process. And Voila...Macintosh HD and the Recovery HD is Present...everything A OK and Good To Go. That's All Folks Thanks for watching and thumbs-up if you liked this video, and please, don't forget to subscribe to be notified of the next episode. Thanks and Peace.
