  8. Thanks, I found your video useful on several levels. I'm about to fit an additional SSD drive and currently checking out issues encountered from other people's experience of 'stripping' down an iMacs. Your video has confirmed that I'll probably need to clean out accumulated dust from vents and fans once the case is open, but would probably use a vacuum process, as opposed to Compressed air. Presumably some care is needed to discharge static when running a vac near the motherboard.and will also consider the fan issue, although it shouldn't be so critical with SSD. I imagine my biggest problem will be cloning the data as I want to use the SSD for OS and old drive for storage. I have my original Snow Leopard OS on DVD but have since upgraded to Mavericks, so wonder if by creating bootable Mavericks disk will it be backwards compatible to allow me to install Snow Leopard pristine OS installation on SSD. I have Time Machine running to a 1TB external drive, but have 2TB hard drive, you raised the issue about incompatible size and to-date have assumed that all is well. But now not so sure, is there anyway of verifying that Time Machine has backed up properly? I've not had cause to use it since installing it and it has not reported any problem so far. My Hard Drive reports 1.79TB free, that suggests my HD currently very under-used. Cheers
  9. Good video. I ran into the problem with it not finding the disk also. Formatting it solved that problem. I'm working on the fan noise fix now.
