WARNING - I will NOT be held responsible for any damages the software(s) and methods shown in this video may cause to yours or someone else's computer, hardware, software, and/or data, including loss of use of such devices and/or loss of data and/or loss of profits from the resulting inability to use such devices and data. Any information or program you choose to put into use from this video is done AT YOUR OWN RISK. As a precaution, I recommend backing up any irrecoverable data before installing and using ANY new software(s), including those shown in this video. This video will show you how to restore a Steam game backup that spans multiple discs or disk directory file folders. This is especially useful for those who have Steam backups burnt to multiple writable recordable CD-R or DVD-R / DVD+R discs, and upon trying to Backup and Restore Games - Restore a Previous Backup, but a portion or percentage of the game is restored, followed by Steam attempting to download the remaining installation files from the internet; essentially Steam does not prompt the user for the next disc or disk directory file folder in the set. Essentially, creating a temporary directory file folder on the hard disk drive (HDD), copying over all of the depotcache files located within the disk directory file folders into this temporary directory file folder on the hard drive and restoring the game backup from this temporary directory file folder should fix and solve the issue.

  1. I follow your instruction, but steam say "insert disk 2" and when I click yes it's nothing.., I just don't understand I tried to overwrite sku.sis in disk_2 folder when steam ask that, but installation finish.. can you help me?
  2. Valve programmers should be bunch of idionts. How could they not add feature like when you try restore your game via multiple cd/dvd? So what's the point on backup? Nowday games are equal to at least 2 DVD media. If I have to copy all of backup data into my hard drive so what's the logic on backup s@!? Why do I backup my games if I already had extra hdd free space? In that point if your game is require 15gb then you have to get at least 30gb to recover your f*kn' game. Almost everyday Steam updating itself for useless feature but no major improvment such this in this subject since 2004?! They're only working on how to restrict features. Long live Valve dictatorship!
