1. Still didn't work for me, as recycle bin box was already checked. I hit restore defaults, and that didn't work. I thought at first I had just dragged the recycle bin into an odd folder, so I used "search" on the entire "this pc". "Search" found only a shortcut to recycle bin.
   
   But, then I unchecked recycle bin box in the "Desktop settings" dialog box, hit apply, then re-checked box and hit apply. That's when it finally appeared again.
