I have an USB with windows 8, that I used when I installed W8 first time. I guess thats the Windows 8 USB I need, but. I do all of the things you´re saying, but it keep telling me, that some files are missing and I need to put them there, but the USB is in and it still doesn´t work. Please answer as fast as is possible, I really want to reinstall it. Thank you.

Mine gets stuck before it lists the files to be backed up... waited for hours with a spinning circle. How do I skip the backup? I just want to re-install windows!

I'm creating a recovery usb now, I want to do a factory reset.
My partitions are screwed up, no backup. It got formatted in Disk Manager.
There are 7 partitions
350GB (Recovery Partition)
350GB (Recovery Partition)
13.5GB (Recovery Partition)
499MB (E: Drive I formated)
500MB (EFI System Partition)
40MB (OEM System Partition)
13GB I assume thats where OS image disk plus dell software is stored/backed up at. I dont know except i see it except in Disk Manager, cant boot from it or do any restores / recoveries because it says files are missing.
Creating a reinstall disk usb now....
Will doing a factory restore also repair / restore partition to factory state?
Is this the right way to do it? USB Reintall disk?
Thanks -
NarNarandMood, You can call the dell spare parts department to see about purchasing the usb key. they will determine if there is a key for your system. the number in the US is 1-977-717-3355. thanks

how i can get the usb ??

Doesn't work. It's just an endless loop of "checking media [fail] afterwards. I hate this Windows 8. It wouldn't boot up even the first time out of the box.

Hello James, It doesnt matter if the drive has been formatted. It will still install Windows. thanks
