How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830, GT-S5830i, GT-S5830D, GT-S5830C, GT-S5830M, GT-S5830V (Android Gingerbread 2.2.1-2.3.6) ↓↓↓ Read this and get links ↓↓↓ 1) (0:24) Download the file and save it to SD card All download links are here: http://bit.ly/17tZsW1 For Android 2.2.1 rename the file to update.zip and move to SD card root folder (/) 2) (0:38) Switch off your phone and reboot into recovery mode (power + home OR power + volume up + home buttons) 3) (0:55) Select "apply update from sdcard" and select the downloaded file. For Android 2.2.1 select "install zip from sdcard" (make sure you've renamed the file to update.zip and moved it to sd card root folder) Some users are getting installation aborted, but on third attempt rooted successfully.   11. After downloading the file and rebooting the phone in recovery mode the screen that appears looks nothing like the screen in the video. Mine is pink and I have two options - press the down volume key to exit or press the up volume key to I guess root the phone.
