Watch this video for help setting up your BigPond Email on a Mac. To set up your BigPond email account, you’ll firstly need to confirm your customer details at http://messaging.bigpond.com. Next, check what mailbox service you’re currently on at http://www.telstra.com/emailservercheck - you could be either Outlook.com or BigPond. Outlook.com instructions begin at 0.42. If you're not sure what they are, follow this link and it'll take you to our webmail site. Here, enter either your BigPond or Telstra username and password. If you've forgotten your details, retrieve either your username or password and follow the steps. Next, let's check what mailbox service you're currently on. You could be on one of two - either BigPond or outlook.com If you're not sure which mailbox service you're on, double-check using the link below. First, let's look at how to set up your email account if you're on the outlook.com mailbox service, then we'll look at BigPond. To set up your account for outlook.com, start by clicking on Mail. If this is the first time you've opened Mail, then Add Mail Account should be displayed on your computer screen. If it doesn't automatically appear, go to the main toolbar at the top of the page and select Mail, then Add Account. Select Add Other Mail Account... ..then click 'continue'. Then enter your email address and password... ..and click 'create'. As details need to be manually entered, click 'next'. Ensure that the account type is IMAP. Enter imap-mail.outlook.com and add @bigpond.com to the end of your username, then click 'next'. Type smtp-mail.outlook.com in the SMTP server field. Then enter your email address and password. Then click 'create'. Lastly, in the top toolbar, select Mailbox, click 'take all accounts online' and you're done. Now let's look at how to set up your email account if you're on the bigpond.com mailbox service. To start, click on Mail. If this is the first time you've opened Mail, then Add Mail Account should be displayed on your computer screen.
